Large Art

Projects begin in a variety of ways. This large panel is 25" x 14" and began when the wheat head glass clusters were on sale. It was that easy to start on a new project.

Once the wheat stalk glass clusters, which are all bevels and refract light, were purchased, the rest of the panel was created. This is a stained glass panel, made in the way that many church windows are with the individual pieces cut, ground and placed exactly in accord with the pattern. When all of the pieces are locked in place, the outer zinc edging is put in place.

With everything in place, the soldering begins. When the panel is completely soldered, it is washed, cleaned and polished. Now it can be inserted into a wooden frame as a panel or have a chain added to hang in a sunny place.
